Mark Miller, former News Director WBAL Radio offered
“Dave was the authoritative voice of news for many years for thousands in the Baltimore area. He was one of the leaders in the WCBM newsroom, especially during its news-talk days in the early to mid 80s.
He was a fierce, but friendly, competitor. He was an old school newsman who understood the need to get it first, but also to get it right. As a newbie reporter, he was a role model and someone that many of us aspired to emulate.
He had three real loves in life: broadcast journalism, the Colts, and of course his wife and life partner, Candi.”

Michele Griffin, former Deputy Secretary, Maryland Department of General Services, wrote
“Dave was such a dear friend of mine from the days we worked together for the State of Maryland. He was whip smart and the consummate professional. At the same time he could be very funny and irreverent.
We shared many moments of hilarity and kept each other’s professional secrets. I’ve always considered Dave one of my best friends.
I am very sad at Dave’s passing but so grateful we passed through this world together for a time."

Ron Matz, former WFBR and WJZ-TV Reporter shared, "Dave was one of the great voices in Baltimore radio. When you heard
Dave on the air he immediately got your attention. He was very competitive in an era of intense competition among the AM radio stations in Baltimore.
Long before social media many stations in Baltimore devoted large amounts of time and money to
their news departments. Dave worked the morning drive shift on WCBM. I worked the morning drive shift on WFBR. We both monitored each other to hear what stories were being covered and what was the lead story.
Dave was also an important part of the Baltimore Colts broadcast team on WCBM. He did the pre-game shows and also worked with several Baltimore broadcast legends including Chuck Thompson, Vince Bagli and Tom Davis.
Dave was a good friend and all of us who knew him will miss him."

In this time of loss, I've been given the gift of knowing Dave better not only through conversations in the past months, but also by reading remembrances offered by some of Dave's colleagues, which I will share here. Much love to you Candi. Scott
