I will always remember Mr. Whitaker as the best girls softball and soccer coach ever! He was always so kind to all of us and taught us how to play soccer when it first came to Cincinnati and also coached us in softball. He spent so much time with all of us. We were all friends with Susan and Nancy, and we had the best team ever. We all played together for years. I will always remember all the time he and Mrs. Whitaker put into all of us girls on the team. I am so happy for him to have had 20 years in Hilton Head! We will never forget him! Suzanne Cantwell

Joan, Susan and Nancy,
I saw Mr. Whitaker's picture in today's Cincinnati Enquirer and his smile jumped off the page. He was such a positive and dynamic coach and probably the only reason I played soccer!
God Bless you during this sad time and I hope and pray that you are able to reflect on a life well lived.

Dear Joan and Family,
We just learned the news of Don's passing and we wanted to send our condolences. My parents are Mark and Virginia Nezich and my husband, Pete Tiano and I got to meet Don at the family reunion you hosted a few years back. Pete and I were drawn to his amazing personality from the moment we met him. Mark, Virginia, Pete and I will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers. We hope that memories of happier times will bring light to your darkest days. If we can help in any way, please reach out to us. Love to you all, Kim Tiano

Dear Joan,
So sorry to hear about Don. We have so many great memories of seeing you both at the pool in Port Royal, while visiting my parents, Joan and Tom Street. I found this photo in my Dad's computer....New Year's Eve 2010.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Joan and Family. It is with great sadness that I learned of Don’s passing. He was one of the nicest and well respected members in the class of 1957 at Saugerties High School and I have many wonderful memories of those times. May God bless you at this time and give you comfort in his arms. Love Catherine (Kay Moose) Berzal
