I met Tom through a mutual friend many years ago and have stayed in touch through the years. Been on a few bird hunts with him and I can attest to his accuracy. Tom fought hard for a long time driving to Charleston for his treatments. I was lucky enough to call him for lunch just prior to his passing and enjoyed catching up for what would be our last conversation. He will be missed.

I attended the original North Cross School in Salem ,Virginia. Tommy Humphries was my first crush when we were second graders together. I consider myself, privileged to have been the only female member of an infamous “brat pack” that included Don Russo, Andy Hoback, and Tommy. Together, we gave poor Billy Ellis nightmares (even though she scared us all to death)! I am so sorry to hear of Tommy’s passing, and send my sincerest condolences to the entire family.

Tom and I were fraternity brothers at University of Richmond. Tom was affectionately known as “Festus,” due to his accent which in truth was less country than mine. He had a great personality and was well liked by all. Although I have not spoken to Tom in years, he was the type of friend that I could have caught up with in an evening. I will forever miss not doing that. Rest In Peace.
