Obituary of Mary Lou Quesnell

Mary Lou Quesnell of Hilton Head, SC, beloved wife of Michael Joseph Quesnell, died peacefully at home on May 19, 2023, at the early age of 60 and after a short battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her immediate family: her husband, Mike, daughter Carly and Carly’s partner Zach Wagner.

Mary Lou was born in Dearborn, MI on April 7, 1963. As a result of her father’s career, she resided in five US cities and completed her high school education at the Bonn American High School in Bonn, Germany. She graduated from Michigan State University with a BA Business Marketing degree in 1985. Mary Lou enjoyed a 30-year career at Ford Motor Company retiring in 2015 as Marketing Director - Ford Customer Service Division. She served in various marketing and sales positions both domestically and internationally for Ford Motor Company of Europe.

At Ford Motor Company, Mary Lou was known for developing and mentoring future leaders. In 2010, Mary Lou was recognized by Automotive New as one of the “Top 100 Leading Women” in the automotive industry. Mary Lou will be remembered for her sense of humor and compassion for others. She and Mike mentored many children both academically and with high school/amateur sports.

Mary Lou is survived by her husband, Mike and her daughter; Carly Quesnell of Denver, CO along with her brothers; Tom (Cody) Daniels of Denver, CO, Jim (Mary) Daniels of Petoskey, MI, and her sisters; Jeannie (Tom) Reder of Midland, MI, Judy (Russ) Adams of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and Ruth (Phil) Kitchen of Pawley’s Island, SC. She is predeceased by her mother and father, Tom and Mary Jean Daniels who shower us with “Pennies from Heaven” every day.

A private funeral service will be held for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the The Humane Society of the United States.
