Frances Fishbaugh

Obituary of Frances Fishbaugh

Frances Fishbaugh, known as “Frankie” or “GG” to all her family and friends passed away peacefully on February 12, 2023, at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born Christmas Day, 1931 on Epperly Hill, WV she was the last surviving child of seven children born to Arlie and Fannie Maloney.  Her childhood was filled with wonderful memories being raised in a rural West Virginia coal mining town.

Relocating to Middletown, Ohio in 1953, she married Gene Fishbaugh and they would spend the next 47 years together until his passing in 2001.  First retiring to Florida in 1989 and later settling on Hilton Head Island in 1998, she thoroughly enjoyed her final 25 years on this beautiful island.  She especially loved spending her later years with her great-grandchildren and telling tales of the good ole days in West Virginia.  She and her family have returned each summer to West Virginia for 49 straight years.

A lifelong homemaker, Frankie will always be known as the lady with the “cleanest house in town”, ironing her sheets, her husband’s boxer shorts and any other clothing or linens she could find.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Marvin, Vernon, William, Margaret, Hager, and Priscilla (Sid).

She will be forever missed by her loving daughter Linda of Hilton Head; grandchildren Christopher (Holly) and Eric (Rachel); great-grandchildren, Trinity, Nicklaus, Evie, and Sabrina; nieces, Janet and Lee and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Preston nursing care facility and Hospice of the Lowcountry.
