Obituary of Paul Wexler

Paul Wexler died in his home on November 9, 2022, on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina at the age of 78, surrounded by his loving family.

Paul was born in Cleveland, Ohio to a close-knit extended family. He started learning the hospitality business in his uncle’s night club as a child and later pursued studies at The Ohio State University when restaurant management was part of the home economics department. Paul had an innate ability to see a problem clearly and solve it quickly, which was a gift. He also had a way of managing staff without drama. He was well respected as a leader in his field. He worked the majority of his career at Marriott Corporate headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland, directing the department that contracted and managed distribution for food and supplies worldwide.

Paul played golf at which his perfect attitude surpassed his skill. He and his high school sweetheart, Jane, were married for 57 years raising two productive and successful children.

Paul had been retired for over 20 years in Hilton Head Island. He enjoyed traveling when his health allowed, OSU Buckeyes, and being with his kids and grandkids.

He is survived by his wife; Jane Gross Wexler, daughter; Betsy, and son; Ben (Lynne), and two granddaughters; Samantha and Anna. He is also survived by a sister; Janyce and was predeceased by his sister; Shellie. He enjoyed a warm relationship with his many nieces and nephews and their families.
