Obituary of Thomas L. Myers

Thomas “Tom” Myers passed away with his family by his side on May 21st, 2022.  He was 80 years old.  

Tom was born March 3rd, 1942 in Youngstown, Ohio to parents Joseph and Francis Myers.  He graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 1964 and was awarded his Certification of Public Accountancy from the states of Illinois and Ohio.  

He was honored to marry Carol Ann Danko in 1969 and they both enjoyed fruitful careers while raising their three daughters in Dublin, Ohio.  In 2001 they moved to Hilton Head Island and were actively involved in community service.  Tom, a retired US Marine, was a soft-spoken yet passionately generous and caring man, who was dedicated to serving others through his work in various organizations including St. Francis church, Hilton Head Hospital, PEP, Special Olympics, the United Way and VIM to name a few.  Tom was a talented tennis player and enjoyed fitness of all kinds.  He was a vocalist in the Hilton Head Choral Society, loved hiking in the NC mountains and cooking for friends and family.

Tom is survived by his wife of 53 years Carol Myers; his daughter Sheryl and son-in-law Greg Westfall; his daughter Dana, son-in-law Phillip and granddaughter Eleanna Nappi; and his daughter Michelle Myers.     

A Funeral Mass will be held for Tom at St. Francis Catholic Church on Hilton Head Island on June 17th at 10am with a Celebration of Life immediately following at his home.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Osprey Village, www.ospreyvillage.org/contact.shtml. Islandfuneralhome.com.
