Obituary of Owen George Scarlett

Owen George Scarlett “Scotty”

Owen’s journey started in Craighead, Manchester Jamaica on August 5, 1937. He was a resident of Poughkeepsie NY for more than 50 years.

He worked for Central Hudson for many years and retired in 1988. He loved to play cricket and was a member of the Sportsman Cricket club in Poughkeepsie.

Owen was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. He also was a volunteer for the food pantry and meals and wheels.

He is survived by 2 daughters (Vanessa and Lissa), 3 sisters (Norma, Avril and Ina), 2 brothers (Alvin and Robert), a stepdaughter (Christine), stepson (Michael), many grandkids, and his beloved wife Agnes.

In May, Scotty came to live in Bluffton SC where he enjoyed the weather and nature. Sadly, he went to be with his Lord on Saturday, November 27^th 2021.  

Funeral service will be held at The Island Funeral Home & Crematory on Hilton Head, SC. His Body will be buried at St. Luke’s Cemetery in Bluffton SC.  May his soul rest in peace.
