Obituary of Ann Carter

 

Ann (Bledsoe) Carter age 98 passed away peacefully at  her home in Indigo Run on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina on November 6, 2021. 

Ann was born in Bartlett, Tennessee where she grew up with 2 sisters and a brother. She met Ed Carter her husband of 67 years while still in High School. He went on to a career in manufacturing as an Executive Vice President with the International Harvester Company and they lived in many places. He passed away in 2015. 

 

Ann is survived by her daughter Sue Jeddy (Doug) of Gaithersburg, MD, son Ed Carter of Palm Beach, FL, daughter Connie Thrailkill (Buck) of Houston, TX;  6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren- Kim Jeddy, Christine Jeddy Little (Jimmy and children Madison & Jake) Chris Carter, Courtney Carter Evangelista (JP and daughter Julia), Chase Carter (son Caden) and Colin Carter.

 

They were home owners on Hilton Head since 1974 and retired to Palmetto Dunes in 1980 from Chicago.

 

Ann’s passion was horticulture. She was an award winning flower arranger, accredited flower show judge and a nationally recognized teacher of flower arrangement and design. She was a member and officer of the International Garden Club.  Her gardens at their many homes were beautiful and very special to her. They both took great pleasure and pride in creating and maintaining them. She was a long time member of the Hilton Head Women’s Golf Association and the Bear Creek Golf Club, where she also enjoyed playing bridge. Ann was an early member of the Hilton Head Presbyterian Church, where she will now join her husband to be laid to rest. God bless them both. 

She will be missed by many.

 

A service will be held at the Honey Horn Chapel at Hilton Head Island’s First Presbyterian Church on Saturday, December 4th at 2:00pm.
