Obituary of Summer Mullis

Summer Mullis, 36, of Hilton Head Island died in Hilton Head Hospital on October 3, 2021. Summer Mullis was born on June 24, 1985 on Hilton Head Island, SC to her parents Rocky and Carol Mullis. Summer was outstanding athlete. At the freshman level, Summer was on the varsity cheerleading team and soccer team. Summer excelled in the sport of swimming. Summer was well known throughout South Carolina when it came to swimming. She won just about every meet that she swam in and she set many state records.    

Summer always called Hilton Head Island home. Living here her entire life, she spent most of her career working for the Spinaker Resorts as a bookkeeper and in accounting.

Summer is survived by her loving and caring father Rocky Mullis of Hilton Head Is., SC, brother Jeff (Jan) Mullis of Eatonton, GA, brother Jason (Brooke) Mullis of Rome, GA, her two sons Chase and Colton Thierault, fiancé Andy Taylor and his two sons Fox and Colton Taylor. Summer was preceded in death by her mother, Carol Mullis.

Summer was an amazing mother, loving daughter, and caring sister that will be missed very deeply. She has reached many lives in one way or another. A memorial service will be held at Grace Community Church, 450 Spanish Wells Rd., Hilton Head Island, SC at 11:00 am on Friday, October 8th. Donations can be made to American Cancer Society or Grace Community Church in honor of Summer Mullis.
