During his professional career as a researcher and chemist, Mark was employed by Gulf Oil Corp. in San Diego, California, performing research and development of reverse osmosis membranes for water desalination.  Mark had many hobbies and enjoyments.  He had a lifelong interest in jazz music.  He loved classic cars and auto racing.  He had a special interest in classic Jaguars, and he won four Concours d’ Elegance competitions with his 1969 E-Type Roadster.  He also had a strong interest in Golden Retriever dogs, owning several, Sabre, Luke, and Ashley, that he loved dearly.
