Robert Martin, MD

Obituary of Robert Michael "Mick" Martin, MD

Beloved Husband, Father, Brother, and Uncle of the Martin and Cantu Family. A true friend.

‘Mick’ will always be remembered as a Low Country and Military Physician, and Naval Officer with service in Vietnam. He was a noble risk-taker with a thirst for knowledge, comedy, poetry, and adventure. He was ever-dedicated to his large, loving Family and our Country. He was a loyal man of conviction and passion, committed to caring for the sick... our mentor, hero, and true pal.

He enjoyed serving the Savannah and Hilton Head communities as an Emergency Medicine Physician in the ER at Memorial Health for over 15 years, and Beaufort Naval Hospital; and once retired, by volunteering at The Volunteers In Medicine Clinic on Hilton Head Island. Mick is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Cecilia Martin, and their three sons: Danny, Mike, and David. Mick used all he was given every day - mind, body, and spirit - which will remain across the Martin and Cantu families.

Visitation at St. Francis by the Sea Church from 9:15-10:00 AM on Friday, April 23; a Mass will follow at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to:
