Elizabeth V. Kelley

Elizabeth V. Kelley, 100, of Bluffton, SC, passed away peacefully at home on June 18, 2020. She was born to the late Goldie and John Leacy on December 3, 1919 in Pheobus, VA. Liz attended the Catholic schools and public high school in Hampton, VA and eventually worked for the WWII war effort at Langley Field as an Aviation Specialist. It was during this time she met the late Frank E. Kelley, whom she married in 1944. The couple moved to Nyack, NY where they started a family, then on to Randolph, NJ and finally to Bluffton, SC.

Liz is survived by her daughter Michaeleen Mary Corvino of Hilton Head Island, SC and two sons, Kevin (Ginny) of Bluffton, SC and Mark (Carey Ann) of Hilton Head Island, SC. Liz is also survived by a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband Frank, she was preceded in death by sons Sonny, Pat (Mary Ann), Tom and Tim (Rena).

Liz enjoyed her large family, quilting, reading mystery novels, sewing and her church life as a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. She especially enjoyed celebrating St. Patrick's Day each year with a traditional spread of holiday favorites.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, July 1 at 10:30 am at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 31 St. Gregory Drive, Bluffton, SC. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Gregory the Great scholarship fund. Private burial will be at Six Oaks Cemetery directly after.
