He was my best friend, my mentor but most of all my DAD. There is not a day that goes by that I wish I could talk with him, hear him sing, help him work in the yard, or feel his kiss one more time. Teaching was his life. He was alway teaching his grandkids Alyse and Shelbi about the love for the arts and racing and he just loved teaching Harper and Harlan about space. I wish we could have gone to the moon together but now I get to look up at his star and him shining down on me. As we get ready to place him in his final resting place this weekend with his parents we will celebrate the life he gave and the way he touched each and everyone of us. We will be together again one day just as he is now with his parents and those he loved.

I was an MEA staffer as exec director for the Downriver education associations during the early 1970’s. Warren served as my MEA supervisor during a portion of that time. He was always a supportive and collaborative person and a devout teacher advocate. I respected and liked Warren and am sorry to hear of his passing. May God bless Warren and the entire Williams family.

My father loved working for MEA and advocating for teachers. He had a lot of great friends and good times working for MEA. We appreciate seeing these kinds words. He will be laid to rest in Michigan on August 29 and we will celebrate his life and the difference he made in education.
Sincerely
Wendy Williams Tidd
