Obituary of Elizabeth Ann Gross

Elizabeth Ann Gross died peacefully April 18, 2018 at the Hilton Head SC Hospital. Elizabeth also known as Liz, Betty Ann and Ba to her large group of family and friends, was born November 5, 1944 in Newark, NJ. She graduated from South Plainfield High School, attended Taylor Business School in NYC and then worked at the United Nations. Betty Ann married Tom Gross, in 1965. They relocated to Toms River, NJ, where they were blessed with two children, Mary and Kevin. Here she worked as a medical transcriber, which she continued after their final move to Hilton Head, SC. Her generosity and kindness is legendary to those fortunate enough to have known her. She was the ultimate crafter and her handmade quilts, baskets, Christmas stockings and custom clothes are now family heirlooms. Her love of her family, particularly her granddaughters, colored every aspect of her life. Ba was predeceased by her beautiful daughter, Mary Brummer. Along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, she is survived and will always be loved by her husband, Thomas Gross, HHI, SC; Son, Kevin Gross, Pinelands, SC; Son-in-law, Mark Brummer, HHI, SC; Granddaughters, Samantha and Marlee Brummer, HHI, SC; her sisters, Maggie (Jim) Stavish, Woodstock, VT, Christine (Steve) Gex, Strafford, VT and brother, Charles DeMartin, Salisbury, MD. There will be a celebration of Liz’s life on June 9th at 11:00 am in Toms River, NJ at the Grove Restaurant located in the Howard Johnson hotel at 955 Hooper Ave, Toms River, NJ.
