Obituary of Christina Fincher McCready

Christina Fincher McCready, 89, passed away peacefully at her home in Hilton Head Planation on Tuesday, June 5, 2018. She was born December 28, 1928 in Atlanta, GA to Alison Montery Fincher and Edna Christina Irving. She lived most of her life in Decatur, GA before moving to Hilton Head Island with her husband of 65 years, James L. McCready, Sr. She was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Decatur, GA and later the First Baptist Church of Hilton Head. Christina was preceded in death by her husband in 2011. She is survived by her only son, James L. McCready, Jr. of Hilton Head, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was deeply loved by everyone for her accepting, gentle, and loving nature. Her concern was always for others and never for herself. Words fail in describing this beautiful, Godly woman and mother. Visitation for Mrs. McCready will be held at The Island Funeral Home and Crematory on Thursday, June 14, 2018 from 6-8pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Care of the Lowcountry or the First Baptist Church of Hilton Head.
