Obituary of Ronald Wade Canada

Ronald “Bubba” Wade Canada passed away peacefully at his home Monday, November 5, 2018. Born September 16, 1934 in Augusta, GA, he attended school then enlisted in the Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. Upon exiting the Army, he worked with his stepfather, Grover Shealy as a cabinet maker. Starting in 1968, they built cabinets for numerous Hilton Head and Lowcountry homes while working for the cabinet companies of Roy Thompson, Elbert Housman, as well as others. He had great love for his family and country. He was the son of Nora Inez Gainey and George Christopher Canada. He was preceded in death by his sister Gladys “Nana” Eleanor Gordon, his niece Sherry Marie McKinley, and nephew Michael Stacey McKinley. He is survived by his nephews; Marion Carter, Steve (Lea) McKinley; nieces, Susan McKinley, Rebecca Turcotte; grand-nephew Dalton McKinley; grand-niece Carie Ayn McKinley, along with several great, grand-nieces and nephew. A private memorial service will be held at his home for immediate family and close friends, at a later date. The family asks that in his memory, you please make a donation to the charity of your choice or to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
