Obituary of Kathleen W. Marks

Kathleen W. Marks, 96, died Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at her residence in Bluffton. Kathleen was born March 22, 1922 in Gadsden, Alabama and lived there until World War II and the army took her travelling across the US. She moved to the Hilton Head /Bluffton area in 1992. Friends may remember her for the many ballet costumes she sewed for the Hilton Head Dance School; she was a great supporter of the many activities involving all her grandchildren and her love of playing “Hand and Foot” cards at the Share Center, quirky sense of humor, and her love of “BLT” sandwiches from Captain Woody’s. Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband John Marks, eldest son Tom Marks, son-in-law Charles Daunt and daughter-in-law Kim Marks. Survivors include her children Gail Daunt of Bluffton, Kass Mayer (Jeff) of Denver, Carol Premji (Z) of Boulder, and Michael Marks of Denver. Eight grandchildren, Joshua Marks (Meredith), Rafiq Premji (Diane), Sarah and CJ Daunt, Samuel and Analora Mayer, Megan and Kyle Marks, and three great grandchildren, Lincoln, William, and Lilly Marks. There will be a celebration of Kathleen’s life for friends and family on October 5th at Oscar Frazier Community Center at 4pm.
