Obituary of Irmgard Kaiser

Irmgard (Irmie) Luise Margot Schuler Kaiser, age 90, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2018. Irmie was born in Albany, New York on December 18, 1927. She met the love of her life, Robert Henry Kaiser (Bob) by writing letters to him while he was stationed in the Air Force. They raised their family on Long Island and in 1997 moved to Hilton Head Island, SC. Irmie is survived by her children Ann Louise Fish (Greg), Barbara Beers (John), and Richard Kaiser (Theresa). In addition, she is survived by eight grandchildren: Amanda Fish, John (Jack) Herbert, Katherine (Kit) Forbis (Justin), Alex Fish, Hilary Martin (Jesse), Daniel Kaiser (Carolina), Rhapsody Kaiser, and Buckminster (Bucky) Kaiser; and five great-grandchildren: Isaiah, Gabriel, Luke and Lily Forbis and Arthur Martin. Irmie was preceded in death by her husband (best known as Kiddo) of 67 years, her son Robert (Robie) Kaiser (Kate) and Barbara’s first husband, Arthur Herbert. Irmie loved to read, play games, quilt and paint with water colors. Her passion was bridge and she excelled at it if the cards were right! She was deeply loved by her family and we will miss her greatly. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made either to Island Lutheran Church, 4400 Main Street, Hilton Head, SC 29926 or American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75231. Funeral services will be held at Island Lutheran Church, 4400 Main Street, Hilton Head on Saturday, November 24 at 10:30 am. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Seabrook of Hilton Head Retirement Community, 300 Woodhaven Drive, Hilton Head, SC. Please join us.
